Minutes of the 08/02/99 BRARS Club Meeting

• Meeting was called to order by President Buddy, KA4END, with introductions of members and guests.
• Applications that were approved for membership at the July 5, 1999 meeting:

• The proposed amendment to the bylaws was discussed and APPROVED by the membership at the meeting. (12 Approved, 2 opposed, 1 Abstain) The amendment is as follows:

*********************************************************************************** Add a new item as follows: By-Laws, Section 1, MEMBERSHIP, item (l.): "Any person who has been removed from membership in the Society per BY-LAWS SECTION 1.(i.), and who reapplies for membership in the society, may be reinstated as a member of the Society only by a majority vote of the full membership of the BLUE RIDGE AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY, INC.. If that vote of the full membership of the BLUE RIDGE AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY, INC. is not a majority vote, subsequent re-application by the removed member for membership in the Society will be automatically rejected." ***********************************************************************************

• Some time was spent discussing alternate locations for the "2000 Upstate Hamfest. Several locations are being looked at, but there is not an obvious answer at this time. Investigation continues. If anyone has suggestions in addition to those discussed, please contact one of the Board of Directors or the Secretary.
• Intermod on the '82 Repeater was discussed. The repeater folks are looking into adding additional filtering on the input frequency to see if some of the intermod can be minimized. Just a matter of making timeto do it.
• Door Prize won by Bob Watson, W4RGW.
• Meeting adjourned.
