Minutes of the 09/06/99 BRARS Club Meeting
- Meeting was called to order by President Buddy, KA4END, with introductions
of members and guests.

- Treasurer, Carlisle Rogers, WA4ULE, presented the treasurers report.
- Jeff Borke, WA4EFT, coordinated a presentation by two local scoutmasters
on the upcoming Boy Scouts "Jamboree on the Air (JOTA)". The two scoutmasters,
Pat Long and Mike Kunze described the Event to be held on October 15,16, and
17 on a 500 Acre farm near Fountain Inn, SC. They are expecting 500 scouts
between 10 and 18 years of age and were asking for help from Hams in the area
to set up radio demonstrations, radio oriented show and tells, and be control
operators for on-the-air contacts. The farm is located east of Fountain Inn.
Take Highway 418 east through Ftn. Inn till you come to Scuffletown Road.
Right on Scuffletown Rd , then 1.5 miles to Park Rd on the right. JOTA will
be on the right at that intersection. Call Jeff (967-3284) if you can help
by spending a few hours with a fun cause. (Potential new HAMS???)

- Board Meeting Highlights, 9-14-1999: No Board meeting, not
enough for a quorum)
- Applications that will be submitted for Membership Approval
at the August 2, 1999 meeting:

- Discussed upgrading the control links for the '.61 repeater.
- Ray, K4SUG will service the club generator and have it ready for the October
15-17 boy scouts JOTA activities.
- Treasurer, Carlisle discussed our club accounts and it was agreed to consolidate
the band accounts.
